For each health clinic you attend, you'll receive 2 Bucky Bucks. Attend all three plus the Health Seminar and get 10 Bucky Bucks!
CHIC DNA Repository Clinic
This service is free for the first 70 dogs. Thanks to the generosity of the Beardies of the World (BOW) calendar folks, blood draws for the Canine Health Information Center (CHIC) DNA Repository will be collected at the National Specialty on Thursday afternoon, October 8. Best of all, BOW is underwriting the $25 per dog fee — an offer only available for the first 70 Beardies to be registered. (For those who prefer, cheek swabs will still be available at a cost of $5 per dog.) Pre-register by September 2 on the Health Events portion of the Master Registration Form — write "Blood Draw" on the form.
Your participation will assist health research for decades to come. There is no age restriction.
We urge everyone to enroll as many dogs as possible to show your support for a healthier future for Bearded Collies.
An application and health survey must be completed for each dog — we advise completing them beforehand. Forms will also be available at the Specialty. We will also need a copy of your dog’s AKC registration and a three-generation pedigree.
If you use the cheek swabs for DNA collection, please return them to Dawn Symes by Friday, October 9.

UC Davis Addison's Research Study
This event is also offered at no charge. DNA sample collections (both blood draw and cheek swab) will also be available for the Addison’s Disease research project at the University of California, Davis (Dr. Anita Oberbauer). The forms to be completed can be found here and should be completed beforehand if possible.
Please include a copy of your dog's AKC registration and three-generation pedigree for this event, too.

CERF Clinic
Cost: $30 per dog.
Jim Schoster, DVM, DACVO, will perform the eye examinations (with dilation).
Please bring your dog’s registration information (registered name, date of birth, AKC registration number) as well as permanent identification information (microchip, tattoo or DNA profile) for the CERF form.
Note: Any errors on forms cannot be corrected, and a $2.00 fee will be charged for each replacement form needed. Every effort will be made to accommodate dogs being shown in the classes on Thursday.
AKC DNA Clinic
Cost: $30 per dog.
This DNA test is for identification purposes; it provides permanent genetic identification of your dog and ensures the integrity of the BCCA’s studbook. There is no age restriction.
DNA samples collected (Bearded Collies only) at the Specialty and submitted to AKC together will qualify for a discounted price of $30 — a savings of $10 per dog.
You will need your dog’s registration information (registered name, date of birth, AKC registration number) and permanent identification information (microchip or tattoo).
