Regional Club Basket Challenge

Attention Regional Clubs!

The National Specialty Annual Auction Committee would like to invite all regional clubs to participate in the third annual BCCA Regional Club Challenge Cup competition. This challenge is designed to be fun and rewarding for all who participate in it, while financially benefiting the BCCA and its programs, BCCA Rescue, and your own club as well. This year, the challenge includes some newly enhanced enticements to get your participation in this annual event. The Challenge Cup will be awarded to the regional club whose auction “basket” sells for the most money the night of the annual auction at the National Specialty. The rules are simple, and the only limitation is your imagination.

Each regional club is asked to put together a basket (or container of your choosing) containing items produced from your area or state only. They do not have to contain dog-related items at all. Suggested items include wines, jams, jellies, candy, local arts or crafts, etc. Items with your state or regional logo on them are acceptable for inclusion, even though they may be manufactured elsewhere. When completed, please make sure that you identify your club’s name as the basket’s donor and attach a list of all the contents to the outside of it. Hand-carry it to the Specialty, or send it in advance to:

Carol Sirrine
BCCA Auction
5652 Clinton Avenue South
Minneapolis, MN 55419

Each basket will be placed in a special area the night of the auction for all attendees to preview. During the evening, the baskets will be auctioned off one at a time with great fanfare to give each participating club special recognition of their time, effort, and support to this competition. The regional club that donates the basket which sells for the highest amount the night of the auction will be announced at the Awards Banquet.

There are some exciting new changes for this year to make note of: the winning club will receive 40% of the sales price, special recognition in the Bulletin, plus the cherished Challenge Cup to keep for a year! The club whose basket is the second highest will receive 20% of the sales price, third highest will receive 10%, and fourth place will receive 5%.

If your club plans to participate in the challenge, notify Auction Chair Susan Lybrand by August 1st.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call (972-442-6824) or e-mail (brandmar@verizon.net).

Thank you for your consideration. We look forward to your participation in this fun competition and wish you the best of luck in being awarded the Regional Club Challenge Cup!
