Conformation Setup

Conformation showing will take place in the Lake Minnetonka Ballroom at the host hotel. The indoor grooming rooms are adjacent to the main ballroom.

Bathing

Bathing facilities will be outside with temperature-adjustable water available. Shampoos and conditioners will be provided by Coat Handler. Please bring your own towels; the hotel towels may not be used.

IMPORTANT: Bathing dogs in the hotel room bathtubs is not allowed, and is a violation of the host hotel dog policy. Please use the outdoor bathing facilities.

Grooming

There will be ample grooming space available for all exhibitors; bring your own pop-up tents and generators. In addition to indoor space adjacent to the ballroom, the usual outdoor bathing facilities will be available, along with a tent that has electrical service. For those who are flying with their dogs to MN, a limited number of grooming tables/crates/dryers will also be available.

The English Setter National Specialty is taking place at the host hotel just before our Specialty, so indoor grooming space will not be available for setup until late on Monday, October 5. If you want to bathe and groom on Monday, use the outdoor facilities.

Reserved Grooming Spaces

Indoor grooming will be in two areas...the Lake of the Isles rooms which are immediately adjacent to the ballroom containing the show ring and the Lake of the Woods ballroom which is close but not immediately adjacent to the show ring. We will have a system in place to keep exhibitors in the Woods ballroom updated on class progress. We had originally planned to have a heated tent with a generator as extra grooming space. However, because the hotel is technically in a residential district, the city permit alone for the generator would have been in excess of $2,000. The Lake of the Woods ballroom was our next best option to allow everyone access to electricity. There will be a tent for overflow grooming but it will NOT have electricity.

PLEASE bring ONLY the number of crates/tables specified in your reservation. You MUST be prepared to stack at least a few of your crates if you asked to being 5 or more crates. I assumed a crate/table size of 2 ft x 3 ft in making these assignments so if you are planning to bring crates/tables much larger than this you may need to adjust your numbers. All the available indoor space has been assigned. If you do not need your space, please let me know. Also, if you find you can fit your equipment in less space, PLEASE PLEASE do so. I suspect not everyone planning on showing has made a grooming reservation so it would be nice to be able to fit a few more people indoors if it is possible.
